“Thank you for doing what you do”: Emergency nurse reveals confronting effect of 12-hour night shift

A New S Wales emergency nurse has posted confronting footage on TikTok display the pressure areas she develops on her face afterward wearing personal protective equipment for her 12-hour work shift.

The nanny, identified as 'Nurse Katie', recorded herself in front and after her pitch, screening the dramatic effects of wear an N95 face mask for 12 hours vertical.

She labelled the video a 'graveyard shift makeover'.

Katie usually specialises in cosmetic injectables, but is presently working in a paediatric pinch department.

At the end of the shift, Katie has deep imprints on some cheeks and pique across the bridgework of her nose from the suction of her face shield.

In the telecasting, the lactate also explains what information technology's like to wear PPE every last twenty-four hours, and has a strong message for protestors calling for greater freedoms in outbreak areas.

She explained the functional difficulties of having to wear PPE all day.

"I will have a headache from dehydration because we don't have easy admittance to body of water," she shared.

"To go to the toilet we have to follow taking off all of our gear, throwing information technology off, cleaning in the lead, and then leaving to the bathroom."

Kate said protesters hard to please 'freedom' are really putting others at risk.

"You tattle just about your exemption, only you are putting everyone other's freedom at risk. Wearing PPE is not about freedom, it's about infection control.

The video has been viewed more than 117,000 times and hundreds have left comments.

"Give thanks you for doing what you do," wrote one watcher.

"Give thanks you for all that you do sincerely, a NSW resident," wrote another.

Other supporters shared out their gratitude, also.

"Thank you for your service and sacrifice to keep us safe and sound."

"Scream looks [like] you throw been to state of war! Give thanks you for your service."

In NSW, there are 708 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 127 in intensive maintenance.
